The starting MSRP of the 2019 Kia Sorento is $25,990. *
The 2019 Kia Sorento is capable of achieving 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. **
The transition between the 2018 and 2019 Sorento is seamless, thanks to Kia’s subtle updates. Whether you’re looking at the exterior, the interior, under the hood, or the technology, you’ll find enhancements. On the exterior, Kia redesigned the lighting clusters so that the LED turn signal is located below the headlight. The available LED running lights are smaller but have an improved shape so that they no longer have an industrial lighting appearance. And the vehicle’s grille has some new but minor design elements. The tail lights weren’t left out of the fun, either. They, too, have a new lighting arrangement (while retaining the same shape). As for paint, Kia is offering a new color, Terracotta, on the first 2019 SX-L trim.
Inside the Sorento, Kia has added four spokes to the steering wheel, which also makes it more comfortable to hold. Drivers will also enjoy the new shifter head design. There's also a new shifter head. On the dash, the 2019 Sorento features an update to the instrument cluster: new graphics will catch the eye of drivers familiar with those from 2018. Concerning cabin comfortability, the 2019 Kia Sorento features quality materials laid out in a pleasing design. That is where the Sorento gives the midsize SUV class a run for its money. With three rows and seats for seven passengers, Kia made the third- row standard instead of only optional, as it had been in 2018.
Under the hood, Kia offers an upgraded engine, exchanging the 2018 4-cylinder to a 3.3-liter V6. A smart move, considering the 2019 engine produces 290 horsepower and 252 pounds per foot of torque. Pair that with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, and drivers will experience an improved fuel economy of two miles per gallon. Kia indicates the 2019 Sorento gets 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined. The steering was also refined for a lighter approach. For 2019, Sorento offers the 7-inch by 8-inch touchscreen technology as a standard feature—with integrated navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And the newest tech features is an available wireless charging option in the SX and SX-L trims. New technology in the EX, SX, and SX-L trims also increases safety for 2019, with an upgrade to the lane-departure warning system, so it automatically steers away from lane lines on the road. Kia also added a driver inattention and fatigue monitor.
